Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) scans for patients in the Greensboro and Alamance areas. DRI is proud to be Function Health & Ezra’s only partner imaging provider in the Piedmont Triad and central North Carolina region.

- MRI Scan
Scans for signs of hundreds of potential conditions, including early signs of cancer of the brain, thyroid, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, adrenal glands, bladder, ovaries, uterus and prostate. Also helps detect for signs of prior stroke, sinus inflammation, fatty liver, uterine fibroids and abdominal aortic aneurysm. - MRI Scan with Spine
Everything in the MRI Scan, plus spine coverage to look for signs of spinal lesions and tumors, herniated discs, cervical spinal stenosis, spondylosis, fractures, scoliosis, arthritis and other degenerative changes. - MRI Scan with Skeletal and Neurological Assessment
Everything in the MRI Scan with Spine, plus looks for signs of neurodegeneration in the brain and narrowing in the arteries of the head and neck, and provides a brain age analysis. Also includes body composition assessment (fat and muscle volume), hip evaluation (labrum, cartilage and joint health), and knee scans (for meniscus, ACL and MCL injuries). - Heart CT Scan
This low-dose CT scan measures calcium buildup in the arteries of the heart (coronary arteries), with a coronary artery calcium (CAC) score to assess long-term cardiovascular risk. - Lung CT Scan
This low-dose CT scan can help detect early signs of lung cancer, lung nodules or masses, emphysema and other lung or airway abnormalities.
How to Book Your Proactive MRI or CT Scan
Proactive imaging procedures are scheduled online through Function Health & Ezra. On their website, you will find transparent pricing information and full details of what is included with each scan. You will be asked to sign up, pay online and select one of our convenient DRI locations where you would like to have your procedure performed.
These procedures are not currently covered by insurance. Scans must be paid for upfront, but they are all HSA/FSA eligible.

What can I expect on the day of my scan?
DRI facilities are staffed with dedicated radiology technicians who are specifically trained to perform Proactive Imaging Scans. When you get to our imaging center, let the front desk staff know that you are here for your Proactive Scan and they will take great care of you. They’ll have your pre-completed paperwork and all you need to do is sign. The radiology technician will guide you to the area where you will get your scan done, where you will be given a gown and a place to put your personal belongings. If you are having an MRI, remember to remove all metal objects.

How long after my scan do I get the results?
After you complete your Proactive CT or MRI Scan, you will receive your report within 7–10 days of your scan. You will receive an email when your report is ready.

Is a Proactive MRI or CT Scan covered by insurance?
Proactive CT and MRI Scans are not currently covered by insurance, but you can use HSA/FSA dollars to pay for your scan. Function Health & Ezra are working with insurance companies to get proactive scans included in health plans.

How much does a Proactive Imaging Scan cost?

How often should I get a Proactive MRI Scan?
Function Health & Ezra recommend getting a Proactive MRI Scan once a year (every 12 months). This potentially allows for monitoring of more aggressive cancers (e.g. ovarian and pancreatic cancers) that may not have been present or too small to be detected in previous scans, as well as to monitor for overall health.

What happens after I receive my findings?
Your report will provide suggestions on who to follow up with and the next steps. If there are urgent findings, a Function Health & Ezra Medical Provider will contact you directly and recommend timely and appropriate follow up care depending on the finding.
